Marcy Appelbaum is a freelance editorial and corporate photojournalist based in Jacksonville, Florida. Her work is published internationally and can be found in Time, Woman’s World, children’s textbooks, other major publications, and the recently published M.I.L.K. (Moments of Intimacy, Love and Kindness) series coffee books. She has received several awards during her career in newspaper photojournalism and in 1991 a photograph taken of a dramatic mid-air plane crash while on assignment with the Florida Times Union was nominated for a Pulitzer Prize. Her love of documenting real life events evolved from her closeness to her family and she has a very large repertoire of black and white family images. Marcy is a New York native and a graduate of the Southeast Center for Photographic Studies in Daytona Beach, Florida. She is the Program Director for the North Florida Photoshop Users Group.
